This week I have been thankful for:
- My sister
- Green Space
- Close Friends
- Cashew Butter
- Pre-made Freezer Meals
This week has been wonderful. I can’t quite say why except that it has been really positive. I have really been focusing on choosing positivity and releasing negativity. The truth is, some days are hectic and some days we don’t accomplish everything we had in mind. Some days are harder than others and we are harder on ourselves; we put more pressure on ourselves to do more.
Truly, there is time in the day to accomplish what we would like. It is simply about what we prioritize. We must ask ourselves, what is most important to us? How do we want to spend our time?
And we have to be happy with that. With our accomplishments. With the little moments each day that might not seem like a big deal, but actually are. For example, on Sunday we were up until 10PM prepping food for the week. That was frustrating. BUT, I got to spend 3 hours seeing my sister-in-law and her family. We had a great time. My food prep can be simplified, but those moments can never be replaced.
We spent our holiday weekend finalizing some wedding prep details and the other just having some fun. We ventured out to Ledges State Park near Des Moines with our pups. There was actually some decent hiking, access to water which Rogue adored and tons of friendly faces. It was so nice to get back to nature and breath in the trees. We did not camp this time around, but there is a campground, many picnicking spots and several bridges and waterways for the kiddos to play in.
