It was a gorgeous weekend here in Iowa. I will be brief and let the pictures speak for themselves.
Gray’s Lake in downtown Des Moines was beautiful. Go at dusk for a cool and easy 2-mile stroll around the lake. It is paved and flat. Perfect to get rid of that after-dinner bloat 🙂
You can even stop and do crow for your local yoga studio!
There is many activities available like grilled, picnicking, a beach area, fishing and boat rental (including kayaks and paddle-boards).
Trails:
Apparently many of the old rail-road lines were turned into walking/running/biking trails throughout the DSM and WDM areas. There are miles upon miles of beautiful tree-lined trails with pretty bridges, ponds and rivers. It’s so easy to throw on some running shoes or hop on your bike to explore the city.
If you don’t have a bike, hit up the Des Moines Bicycle Collective for a re-furbished bike!
Never under-estimate the power of pausing, breathing, focusing and being present.
